Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated using beeswax and dyes. Barb became interested in eggs as a child when her mother brought out the 'special' Easter eggs. The eggs had been made by Barb's Czech Grandmother on her father's side, who passed away before Barb was born. Barb finally learned how they were made as an adult from classes that were offered by her church. And, as they say, the rest is history. Barb teaches a 4-session class at Troy-Hayner Cultural Center each year before Easter. Her display will include a variety of traditional Ukrainian Style eggs along with some etched eggs and non-traditional ones and a display of an egg design at each step of the way.
